A digital panel meter is part of The Analog Thing. The display is located in the lower right on the upper board and is thus a central part of the front panel.

Usage

The panel meter is an instrument which is used as voltmeter (albeit with respect to the machine unit Machine Units of +10 V, so +10 V are displayed as 1.000). Depending on the mode switch mode setting (operation mode) setting, different things are displayed.

  • In mode COEFF the coefficients can be setup on the eight manual coefficient potentiometers. Using the COEFFICIENT switch the potentiometer to be set is selected.
  • In mode REP or REPF the current OP TIME value is shown. It can be changed using the OP-TIME potentiometer. In all other positions except OFF the voltmeter shows the value present at the jack U on the front panel.

Technical details

  • This digital readout display is a PM438 [1][2].
  • The instrument indicates negative values with a preceding minus sign.
  • A leading zero left to the decimal point is automatically suppressed.
