The Analog Thing (abbreviated as THAT) is a small analog computer built for educational and recreational purposes by anabrid. The computer will be available for sale at the net cost of its components, i.e. as cheap as possible and not-for-profit. We are targeting a retail price of around EUR150. The component list, circuit diagrams and circuit board layouts of this computer are released as Open Source. Information on how to build THAT from scratch and how to operate it will be released here on this wiki.

Version 1.0: Specifications and Photos

The prototype consists of 2 parts, an upper front PCB with ENIG gold plated sockets for using 2.0mm patch cables for wiring the analog circuits to investigate and a base PCB with the main electronic circuits, the connectors and the controls with switches and potentiometers as coefficients. Additional a third party voltage instrument (PM438) is used for the setup of coefficients and the operation time of the analog computer.
